The portal has an address of its own, and members can always go to it directly. Putting it on your website adds a sign-in button that opens the portal in a pop-up over your page, so nobody leaves the site.

This works on any website. It is one line of code, plus the list of sites allowed to show the portal. ChabadOne sites are covered further down.

On Any Website

1

List your website

Under Settings → Members Portal → On your website, enter the addresses allowed to open the portal — one per line, both the plain address and the www one:

example.org
www.example.org
2

Set the button

Choose the button text (“Members login”, “My Account”) and the button color.

The On your website section: the list of websites that may show the portal, the button text and color, and the code to copy.
Where the allowed sites, the button and the code live.
3

Copy the code onto your site

Copy the line under Code for your website and paste it into your site's pages, wherever your site keeps code that belongs on every page. It adds the button and makes it open the portal as a pop-up.

Already have a button or menu link you would rather use? Give it the class members-portal-login and the script makes that one open the portal instead.

On a ChabadOne Website

Two steps: the code, then a menu link.

1

Paste the code in the footer

In ChabadOne, go to Settings → General Settings → Advanced Settings and paste the line into Custom Footer Code.

The footer, not the header. Code in the footer loads after the page, so the site stays fast.

Saving asks you to tick ChabadOne's agreement — advanced code can affect a site, and this is covered by the Chabad.org Membership Agreement.

2

Add the menu link

Go to Publishing → New Link and choose Link to another page on your site or the Internet:

FieldEnter
TitleMembers login
AddressYour portal address, https://<your-org>.chabadms.com/portal — copy it from the Members Portal settings

The link then appears in your site's menu on every page. With the code in place it opens the portal as a pop-up; without it, the same link still opens the portal as a full page.

Checking It Works

  • Open your website and click the button. The portal should appear over the page.
  • If nothing opens, the site is probably not in the allowed list — the plain address and the www address are different entries.
  • The portal has to be on. While it is off, the address shows nothing.
